Girls on fire!

A pair of 4yo mares registered break through wins for the stable this week.
Starting at Doomben on Wednesday, ADELAIDE GIRL (pictured) took out the 1350m Maiden Plate at her third career start.
The daughter of WRITTEN BY began from the gates well but under the guidance of Rory Hutchings, allowed those drawn outside her to engage in a battle for the lead.
With genuine speed injected into the race, ADELAIDE GIRL settled sixth in the field of eight before sweeping down the extreme outside to score by a neck.
ADELAIDE GIRL’s two previous outings yielded a second at Warwick on debut followed by a well beaten sixth at the Gold Coast, so it was pleasing to see the mare improve on her seasonal return to raceday.
Long-time stable clients Michael and Janice Paris paid $75,000 for ADELAIDE GIRL at the 2023 Magic Millions QTIS Yearling Sale.
Two days later at the Sunshine Coast, it was another 4yo mare’s turn – ROAD TO PARADISE.
The daughter of THE AUTUMN SUN emerged a comfortable 1.8 length winner of the 1600m BM58 Handicap – her first victory since joining the stable from NSW trainer Kris Lees in July.
In her four previous Queensland runs, ROAD TO PARADISE had raced between distances of 1723m and 2200m, so her future racing may well lie in mile races.
ROAD TO PARADISE was a $260,000 Inglis Easter yearling, purchased by Curran Bloodstock. She races in the familiar tartan colours of the Wanless family and is the Hoysted stable’s 10th winner for the 2025-26 season.
