CHIEF rules again!

CHIEF IN CHARGE completed a hat-trick of wins when successfully graduating to Saturday metropolitan company at Doomben.

The in-form gelding had won his two previous starts in midweek company over the 1350m Doomben course and with the same set up presented to him on Saturday, he repeated the dose with another gritty performance.

Partnered by Damien Thornton, CHIEF IN CHARGE made the most of barrier two, settling in the slipstream of the leader before switching off heels in the straight and letting down strongly to win by more than a length. Adding some merit to the win was him losing a hind plate in the run.

The race time of 1:18.85 was the quickest of four 1350m events on the program.

CHIEF IN CHARGE’s overall record now reads four wins and five placings from just 11 starts, with prizemoney now in excess of $150,000.
