MISSION accomplished!

Former Victorian based mare MISSION OF JOY has adapted quickly to Queensland, winning her first start for the Hoysted stable on Friday night.

Lining up in a 1200m Maiden for fillies and mares at the Sunshine Coast, MISSION OF JOY justified her $2.60 starting quote with a thumping four length win under the state’s leading rider Ben Thompson.

Thompson held the box seat position from barrier one and once clear turning for home, the race was put to bed.

The 4yo mare had started on four previous occasions across regional Victoria for a 2nd, 4th, and a pair of 5ths.

MISSION OF JOY races in the familiar tartan silks of the Wanless family and Friday’s breakthrough victory is hopefully a sign of more things in store for this daughter of PER INCANTO, a $260,000 yearling purchase from Little Avondale Stud at the 2024 NZB Karaka Sales.
