CHEVALLUM breaks through!
Friday, 13 Feb 2026

3yo gelding CHEVALLUM shed maiden status at just his second career outing at Ipswich’s Thursday meeting.
Following a narrow defeat on debut at Warwick last month, CHEVALLUM found the necessary improvement to go one better when rising from 1200m to 1350m.
Jag Guthmann-Chester did the steering from barrier 2 and the pair led the 11-horse field throughout the contest, with half a length to spare on the line.
Always encouraging to see a horse break its maiden early in its career especially with a relatively inexpensive yearling as CHEVALLUM was (NZ$90k).
He is a son of second season sire KING’S LEGACY and out of a stakes placed ZOUSTAR mare.
Congratulations to his owners the Wanless family.
