Tuesday double!

Tuesday’s meeting at Warwick was the scene of a stable double courtesy of geldings CHEVALLUM and COLLEANO.

CHEVALLUM (pictured) opened the account with a half-length victory as favourite in the first race on the program – the QTIS 3YO Handicap over 1500m.

The son of KING’S LEGACY was able to make the notoriously difficult leap out of maiden company having won at Ipswich last month.

With a record of two wins and 2nd from just three career outings, CHEVALLUM has made a promising start to his career after being purchased for NZ$90,000 at the 2024 NZB Karaka Yearling Sale.

Rider Jag Guthmann-Chester has been aboard in both of CHEVALLUM’s wins and he was also responsible for the stable’s second winner on Tuesday – COLLEANO.

A 5yo son of TRAPEZE ARTIST, COLLEANO started a $4.60 chance in the 1350m Class 2 Handicap and emerged victorious by 0.2 lengths.

In a race that was comfortably the quickest of three 1350m events on the card, COLLEANO lumped 60kg to claim his third career win and second in his last four outings.

He was originally purchased for $150,000 by Mick Price and Viva Racing before swapping Victoria for Queensland 12 months ago. In that time since, the gelding has earned just shy of $50,000.

Tuesday’s double elevates the Hoysted team’s seasonal tally of winners to 38 on the Queensland Trainer’s Premiership.
