COLLEANO maintains perfect Warwick record

COLLEANO continued his affiliation with Warwick racecourse on Tuesday after recording his second win at the venue from as many starts.

The TRAPEZE ARTIST gelding started a well-supported $3.70 favourite in the 1500m BM65 Handicap and duly won by three quarters of a length after leading throughout for Boris Thornton.

A 60.5kg impost, the highest of the nine runners, proved to be of no consequence as COLLEANO was able to dash home the last 600m in 34.72, almost two and a half seconds faster than the last 600m timed in the other 1500m event on the card.

Since swapping Victoria for Queensland, COLLEANO has graced the winners’ stall three times and claimed runner-up honours on another three occasions.

With one of those placings coming at Doomben, the logical next target for COLLEANO is a metropolitan win.

COLLEANO was a $150,000 Gold Coast Magic Millions yearling and becomes the Hoysted stable’s 42nd winner for season 2025-26.
