DRAGON LINK fires again

DRAGON LINK took the notoriously difficult step out of maiden company in his stride with a comfortable win at Ipswich on Friday.
Having dispatched maiden rivals by 3.5 lengths at Eagle Farm on October 14, the FARNAN gelding started a long odds-on favourite in the 1100m Provincial Class 1 contest and duly got the job done with a minimum of fuss.
Partnered by Jag Guthmann-Chester from barrier 7, DRAGON LINK found the front with relative ease and quickened smartly over the final furlong to defeat LIFE AFTER LOVE by 1.5 lengths, with a 6-length gap back to DREAMS DON’T DIE in third.
The race time of 1:03.71 was less than a second off a track record that has stood since 2016.
DRAGON LINK is a half-brother to former stablemate WITH INTENT, who showed ability but unfortunately had her career cut short by injury.
The breeders Kenmore Lodge had DRAGON LINK entered for the 2024 Magic Millions Horses In Training Sale but was withdrawn before being privately acquired by the Hoysted stable
